YAG capsulotomy (YAG laser) after cataract surgery

The YAG capsulotomy (YAG laser) is used when a capsular fibrosis, the so-called post-cataract, forms after a successful cataract surgery. The treatment is painless and is done on a laser. Here, the newly formed membrane is opened on the lens capsule and made a permanently good and again sharp vision.

The after-star usually forms only once. A repeated clouding of the lens capsule and thereby poorer vision is not possible.
